Love love love these photographs by Erik Madigan Heck. He makes wonderful use of negative space. I especially love the soft yellow dress (upper left photograph), used for the Lanvin Spring/Summer 2008 line.

Happy Friday everyone! My hubby and I are about to head out to Mammoth Mountain for my friend's 30th birthday celebration. Woohoo!
Safety first! Helmets like Smith's Holt can protect you from serious head damage. High visibility is necessary to find some serious powder, and to avoid gnarly ice. The Spy Apollo goggles do this along with looking super cute! Stay warm and look stylish with Burton's insulated (with thermacore) Lush Jacket. Cover that head when taking down time off the slopes with Spacecraft's Snuffle Pom Beanie. Keep dry and bring back childhood nostalgia with Grenade's Flora Snowboard Mitts. Stay stylish in these Burton Chase snowboard pants that are tailored to fit like a pair of jeans! They also do a good job of keeping you dry and warm on the slopes.

Super8 Collaborate
..........................................................................................................................................
..........................................................................................................................................
Remember my post about Super8 Magazine a couple weeks ago? Well they asked my husband, Tom White and I to collabor8 on a selected theme to create original poster art. We selected Bang. Other options were: Lovesick, Learned, I Fight, Motto, Broken and Below. Tom did the one on the left, with some help from me. I did the one on the right, with some help from Tom.
Super8 will choose the top collaborations to get printed on a special A3 book with "ready to frame" posters of Super8. Check out other poster collaborations here.

ann hennessy Obey your furry friends
..........................................................................................................................................
..........................................................................................................................................
Love this shirt? Love this dog? Why not get both? Ok, so maybe you don't have room for this furry friend. But maybe your heart aches as much as mine does when you see a photo of a weepy eyed dog or cat that is in need of a home. Buy the Obey shirt and all profits generated from the sale of Obey Awareness Adopt-a-Pet product go directly to support their cause. They share a belief that millions of animals urgently need us to take the lead and speak out on their behalf. It's probably a good thing that my landlord doesn't allow dogs, otherwise I'd have at least three rescues.
Want a furry friend that looks like the dog on the shirt? Check out shaggy haired and weepy eyed Willow. Someone adopt her since I can't! There are plenty of other pets on Adopt a Pet if you aren't into the shag.

After Big Bear got DUMPED on last week, I am seriously itching to hit the slopes. My hubby and I were going to drive up last weekend, until we heard all but one road was closed getting into Big Bear. Since I've only hit the slopes once this season, I had to fill the void with scoping out some boards.
The board on the left is the Arbor Eden 09/10, (the Arbor shop is located in my old hood.. Venice Beach). I seriously heart Arbor products. They use environmentally friendly natural materials to produce snowboards, skateboards, and bamboo apparel. I own the Bamboo Bug longboard, a couple seasons old. I love it, and hope to add an Arbor snowboard to my collection. The Arbor Eden seems like a perfect fit for me, since you can take it anywhere, anytime.
The board on the right is the Roxy Silhouette snowboard 09/10. I've always loved Roxy products, and think this board is utterly adorable. I'm a big fan of the hand drawn illustrative style, full of poppy colors. This is probably a style that I would tackle if I had a chance to design a snowboard. It actually reminds me of my designer friend, Melissa Scotton. She has designed Roxy snowboards.. and hmmm.. maybe she designed this one?

Very impressed with this interior design project done by designer Maria Yasko, which I found on the Behance Network. I joined this site about a year ago and am realizing how many incredibly talented designers are a part of this community. Also check out Maria's awesome modular scalfolding.

super8 magazine
..........................................................................................................................................

..........................................................................................................................................
I recently came across this Super awesome magazine (produced in Italy) and was really into the cover designs (which were submitted by collaborating artists). The stylized mix of fluorescent colors overlaying organic textures really compliment each other nicely. Even better, this Super magazine is done in a poster format, is free of charge and was "Borne by the passion for graphics, flavoured with the taste of vintage". Obviously, Super8 Magazine is worth picking up.

..........................................................................................................................................
Terrible Yellow Eyes is a collection of works inspired by the beloved classic, Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. The contributing artists share a love and admiration for Sendak's work and the pieces presented on the website were done as a tribute to his life and legacy.
Check them out. There were so many beautiful pieces.. I had a hard time picking my favorites!
